Tales of crime on a balmy summer evening at the coastal hamlet of Prinsted for Pauline Rowson

I was in good company both literally and spiritually on Friday 7 July when I gave a talk about my crime novels and crime writing to members of the Prinsted and Emsworth Reading Groups at a place where the Queen of crime fiction, Agatha Christie, used to spend time with her aunt.

It was an outdoor performance, as you can see, in the stunning garden of a member's house which faced the shore of the Thorney Channel of Chichester Harbour. The Thorney Channel is also featured in one of my Inspector Andy Horton crime novels, Fatal Catch, the twelfth in the series of thirteen police procedural crime novels.

I was delighted to entertain the audience on this balmy summer evening with tales of how I creat, plot and research my crime novels which are all set against the backdrop of the sea along the south coast of England.  This was followed by a lively question and answer session and a book signing.  Prinsted was the home to an aunt of Agatha Christie who used to visit the coastal village and maybe even draw inspiration from it as I do from the locations around the area.
 
There are currently thirteen crime novels featuring the rugged and flawed Portsmouth detective, Inspector Andy Horton, three in the new series featuring Art Marvik, the troubled former Royal Marine Commando now an undercover investigator for the UK's National Intelligence Marine Squad (NIMS) and two standalone thrillers, the award winning, In Cold Daylight and In For the Kill.





Lost Voyage, the third in the Art Marvik series is published in the UK in hardcover by Severn House Publishers (10 July 2017). It will be published in the USA and released as an ebook on the 1 November 2017.
